Having returned to the track in good form this preparation, talented six-year-old Floria has gained outright favouritism in betting markets for the 2014 Sunline Stakes, cutting in from an opening quote of $5 to register as the unrivalled $3 market mover, ahead of You’re So Good ($4), Text’n Hurley ($6) and Bippo No Bungus ($10).

Will Floria justify her favouritism amongst punters, or will one of her well-trialled opponents find the Sunline Stakes line in the clear?

Floria ($3)

Securing four wins and eleven places from her 31 race starts to date, Floria registered a particularly strong and consisted 2013 campaign, finishing second in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1600m) first-up on April 27th, producing an incredible turn of foot to unluckily finish second to Red Tracer in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) and finally running a competitive third in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) on June 22nd. Having produced an equally impressive spring campaign, the Peter Moody-trained mare finished second in the Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) first-up three weeks ago and will leave from the ideal barrier 1 in the Sunline Stakes.

Text’n Hurley ($6)

Finishing outside the places only once in five race starts this preparation, Text’n Hurley was unlucky to finish second to Bonaria in the Group 3 Scweppervescence Trophy (1600m) most recently, and has arguably hit career-best condition. Trainer Colin Little has a high opinion of Text’n Hurley, and believes her current condition will warrant a run in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) in April. Despite drawing what is now the wide barrier 10, the Hard Spun mare will be partnered by leading an in-form jockey Craig Williams in the Sunline Stakes this evening.

Coronation Shallan ($12)

Yet to finish outside the places in seven career starts to date, Coronation Shallan has displayed a keen turn of foot in the final straight of nearly every event she has contested. Having returned to racing well this preparation the Strategic mare was unlucky to finish third in the Listed Super Saturday Stakes (1400m) at Flemington last time out, and is likely to receive the run of the race from the central barrier 5 this evening.
