2010 Sunline Stakes Nominations

February 8th, 2010

The Moonee Valley Racecourse will be host to some of the top four-year-old and over mares on Saturday when it holds the 2010 Sunline Stakes.

While many will go to the racecourse to see the highly anticipated running of the Group 1 Australia Stakes (1200m), spectators will not be disappointed with the line up for the Group 2 Sunline Stakes.

Four-year-old mare Casual Friday comes into the 2010 Sunline Stakes on top form having won her last three starts and will be one to keep an eye on for Saturday’s race.

Casual Friday comes into the 2010 Sunline Stakes on top form.

Runner up to Casual Friday in the mare’s handicap at Moonee Valley earlier in the year is Chelle’s Alibi. The five-year-old is a strong middle distance runner and has a good opportunity for the 2010 Sunline Stakes.

A very strong contender to cross the line first is Divine Rebel. The Michael Moroney-trained mare was runner up at the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) last year. However the five-year-old will still need to prove herself having not placed since then.

Rolling Stock, trained by Clinton McDonald is another hopeful who proved herself in January after winning the fillies and mares handicap (1600m) at Caulfield Racecourse.

Spanning 1,600 metres, the race will be the eighth of the day, as the Moonee Valley Racecourse holds one of its richest racing days.
